PS: The market experienced a significant drop last Friday, so I decisively increased my position. The reason for the decline may be that there is no specific growth target set for this year, which disappointed the market and led to the drop.
I vaguely remember having many ideas in the past, but most of them remained in the initial stages and were eventually abandoned for various reasons. Later on, I gradually realized that when it comes to doing something, you really can't wait for everything to be perfect because in the real world, there is never a perfect time. If you wait for such a moment, I think you will have missed out on a lot.
I remember when I was in college, my first exposure to programming was through courses on VF and C languages. However, these were just taken as courses and the only purpose was to pass the exams. At that stage, I had no interest in programming and couldn't see any practical use for them. Naturally, I had no motivation to learn.
My first interest in programming arose when I came across a website called "Pao Mian Ba", which was a programming learning platform. What set it apart was its innovative approach. Other websites either provided vague instructional videos or a bunch of documents, which were mostly overwhelming for beginners. However, Pao Mian Ba had an enlightening approach. Each course had prompts on the left side and you could write code on the right side, with real-time results displayed. I found it very interesting because it made learning easier for beginners. Seeing the changes in the interface on the right side while writing code gave a sense of accomplishment. Later, similar learning methods were introduced by other online platforms like Mooc. I checked my learning hours on Mooc and found that I had spent 320 hours learning. By the way, Pao Mian Ba has now transformed into an educational navigation website, with all its previous functions migrated to JiSuanKe. Of course, there have been significant changes in its various features since then.
So, I started learning things related to programming. My initial idea was to create a website similar to QQ Space's message board, where you could write blogs and more. I started with static web pages and used Dreamweaver to write them. After some time, I realized that a website also required backend technology, so I tried learning Java. However, I encountered difficulties and switched to PHP. I learned for a while but eventually gave up due to certain reasons.
If I think back to my college years, I attempted to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, and PHP. During the learning process, I encountered some problems that I couldn't solve, so I chose to give up. As a result, this idea remained unrealized. I always felt that I didn't have enough skills to complete it and that I wasn't ready. Even in my senior year, I made no progress. So, I reluctantly started learning Java again, with the goal of studying Android development.
A few days ago, while organizing my computer and Baidu Cloud Drive, I found many old things. I went through the collected materials and notes from the past and revisited the memories. Although it was difficult, I selectively deleted some things. At a certain stage of personal growth, some things and some people are destined to disappear from your life.
Having left the college campus, I have now been in the workforce for three years. Although I am still in the internet industry, I haven't realized that previous idea. In fact, I am now closest to that idea. My programming skills and learning abilities have significantly improved, but I still haven't put it into practice.
Now, looking back, so many years have passed. According to common sense, with the passage of time and continuous accumulation, I should be ready and able to try to accomplish it. However, it seems like there are still some gaps in my technical skills, and I still don't feel prepared to start or put it into practice. Whenever I think about it again, I can always find reasons to delay. This is probably my biggest weakness. Whether it's in relationships or things I like, I always think there will be a perfect time to be ready. But in reality, you will never be fully prepared. Each stage of life will bring unexpected challenges. During college, I hoped to graduate smoothly and find a job. After starting work, I hoped for better opportunities and growth. Human desires and greed are limitless. At each stage, you will feel the need to prepare for something new, but in the process, you may miss out on the people and things you should have cherished.
They say there is still a long way to go, and we should be fully prepared to start a new beginning. Only then can we do what we want to do. But it seems that the answer to whether you are truly prepared is always "no". In every stage of life, there will always be areas where you feel lacking, and there will never be a perfect time to be ready. The present moment is the best time to prepare. Start learning while taking action. Perhaps that is the best way to grow.
