Remembering the trip to Qingcheng Mountain

2017 is the first year after graduation, and this year's National Day is also Mid-Autumn Festival. In previous years, I would go home at this time, but this year is different. Both my parents are outside, so I don't plan to go home. I will only talk to my parents on the phone before and after Mid-Autumn Festival. It seems that I can only go home during Chinese New Year.

During this drifting period, the most obvious feeling is missing the food at home. I work in a small company in Chengdu and rent a house. There are only a few restaurants around that I like to eat at. I eat at different places every day, but after a long time, it becomes tiring. Occasionally, I will go to a slightly farther place to try different flavors. In my heart, I silently think that next year I will definitely change houses, with the only condition being that I can cook, even though I'm not very good at it, I still want to give it a try.

During the National Day holiday, I stayed idle for a few days and then went to Qingcheng Mountain. Originally, I planned to go in the morning, but due to procrastination and objective factors of the holiday, I could only buy a high-speed train ticket from Xipu to Qingcheng Mountain around 1 pm. It took about half an hour to reach Qingcheng Mountain, and then I bought a ticket to the back mountain and took a taxi there. The mountain road was winding, but after some twists and turns, I finally reached the foot of Qingcheng Mountain. It was around 2 o'clock at that time, so I officially started this hike.

As I walked further, I felt a chill in the air. Qingcheng Mountain truly deserves its reputation as "the most secluded place in the world". The entire mountain is covered in green trees, with peaks and winding paths. It is a great place to relax and get closer to nature. I took the Baiyun Cableway hoping to reach the peak, Baiyun Temple, faster. However, when I reached Wangyun Pavilion, it was already past 5 o'clock. I asked a man coming down the mountain, and he said it would take at least another half an hour to reach the summit. At this time, more and more people were coming down the mountain, and there were almost no people going up. It was getting dark, so due to time constraints, I ultimately decided to go back down.

Since I went up the mountain from the right side, I chose the left side road to go back down. Compared to going up, the scenery on the way down was better, but the distance was slightly longer. It was already past 7 o'clock when I reached the bottom. Since I didn't accurately estimate the time it would take to go down, I didn't buy a return ticket in advance. So, I had to delay for two hours to buy a suitable ticket to return.

In conclusion, this trip lacked a specific plan. I just blindly went up without any direction. Looking back, I wonder if it would have been better to plan ahead and make better use of time. If I had determined in advance where to stay, maybe I wouldn't have been in such a rush. Would it have added more joy to the search? Therefore, whether it's work or life, without a specific plan, it is often difficult to achieve the desired results. No one has the responsibility or obligation to carry the burden for you. The future path may not be smooth sailing, but you must persist in your original intention and forge ahead.
